Gretton Playground – A Playground Built for the Community

Greenfields was delighted to work with Gretton Parish Council to bring an exciting new playground to life, creating a vibrant space for children and families to enjoy for years to come. This project was all about delivering a high-quality, engaging, and safe play environment that would encourage active outdoor fun while blending seamlessly with the surroundings.At the heart of the playground is a clamber stack, designed to promote climbing, balance, and coordination, offering endless opportunities for adventure. Alongside this, we installed a timber tower unit, providing an exciting multi-play structure where children can explore, climb, and slide. To further encourage strength-building and physical play, monkey bars with grass mat safety surfacing were added, giving children a fun yet safe way to challenge themselves. A timber frame group swing was also included, offering a social play experience where multiple children can swing together, encouraging teamwork and interaction.Safety was a top priority throughout the project, which is why we installed EPDM wet pour surfacing, a durable and impact-absorbing material that not only enhances safety but also adds a visually appealing finish to the space. The grass mat safety surfacing under the monkey bars ensures additional protection while maintaining a natural look that complements the setting.From start to finish, we worked closely with Gretton Parish Council to ensure the playground met their vision and the needs of the local community. Now complete, the space is a thriving hub of activity, bringing joy to children and peace of mind to parents, knowing their little ones have a secure and exciting place to play.This was a fantastic project to be a part of, and we are incredibly proud to have delivered a playground that will benefit the community for years to come.
